Two official pages, two dates. The Federal Judicial Center biographical directory states that Mehta was confirmed December 16, 2014, and that the commission issued December 19, 2014. The United States District Court for the District of Columbia official biography states: “Judge Amit P. Mehta was appointed to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia on December 22, 2014.”

This site uses the FJC commission date for the start of the Article III office and records the court-site date as a printed conflict. Neither page is a finding about later cases. The gap is three days. It is not a hidden second commission.
